I’m Simon Thompson, a graphic designer with over 25 years’ experience working across agency, freelance, and contract roles. I studied Illustration at Brighton University, where I earned a BA (Hons) degree. My work is grounded in clear visual thinking, strong communication, and practical execution.

Much of my career has been spent within agency environments, delivering design across a wide range of sectors and formats. I’ve worked on everything from large-scale commercial campaigns and global brand toolkits to more contained, detail-driven projects, developing a calm, methodical approach to problem-solving and production. I’m comfortable taking work from initial brief through concept, design, artwork, and final delivery, with close attention to accuracy, consistency, and context.

Alongside commercial work, I’ve also been involved in projects within healthcare, education, and community-led contexts. These projects reinforced my interest in design that supports real-world outcomes, and in communication that plays a considered, supportive role in people’s lives. In these settings, sensitivity, responsibility, and appropriateness matter as much as visual impact, and I’ve found this to be some of the most rewarding work I’ve undertaken.

I work collaboratively and value straightforward communication, shared understanding, and well-run processes. Whether working independently or as part of a wider team, my aim is always to be dependable, thoughtful, and easy to work with, providing design solutions that are practical, well-crafted, and effective.
