Sparks?
You may well be wondering why Sparks?
Well, it's a nickname, given to me by my work mates for not realising that I was responsible for fusing our building in Soho Square. All the Macs went down. Suddenly!
Fortunately, it was summer, so we made the most of the outage and sat in the sun for the three hours it took the electrician to fix the problem. Once he'd left and having got the call back to work, I did it again! In my defence, it was a dodgy cable on a lightbox. But the name still stuck.
I've embraced it though.
I like to think of Sparks as an endearing name, conjured up for me by that creative bunch, not just for giving us all an unexpected, albeit unintentional day off, but that it also refers to my quick wit, electrifying response and repartee. After all, it wasn't really my fault Health and Safety...
Needless to say, it's followed me around wherever I go, passed on by those in the know. Even older friends and family have 'affectionately' adopted the name!
It's become my brand.
But that’s only part of the story…
Pre-Sparks, I completed a diploma in Fine Art/Printmaking and then went on to gain a BA (Hons) degree in Illustration at Brighton University.
For more than fifteen years since, I’ve worked in the creative industry as a designer, whenever possible actively seeking out projects that have a positive impact on people and the planet. And yes, during that time, I too have collaborated with some fantastic brands, agencies, and organisations right across the creative sector, but let's save that spiel for another day. Instead, I will list the main points and share below for those that are interested.
So if you're looking for a bit of downtime and an impromptu day in the sun 'Ahem', I mean in need of a bright spark to work on your latest project,
please get in touch; it would be great to hear from you.
Looking forward to it...
